Spamalot!

Spamalot, Eric Idle’s musical based on the ever popular "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" has been receiving rave reviews ever since it opened in the West End. We’d promised to take housemate Kris to see the show as a Christmas present. Her time in the UK was fast running out, so we finally organised a night to go along and it turned out everybody else in the house was keen as well!
We met up for a quick beer at one of London’s many walkabout pubs. Given that we were seeing a Monty Python show it seemed appropriate to go out for Chinese, so we went on to Chinatown for what turned out to be an outstanding meal. You’ve just gotta love Crispy Duck Pancakes!
We finished up a little later than anticipated so we had to move quickly to the theatre and got in just as the show had begun. Being up in the cheap seats did threaten to induce vertigo but the jokes were just as funny as if we’d been sitting down the front.
The show turned out to be a riot – a hilarious mix of The Holy Grail’s jokes with other Monty Python classics and a lot of funny musical numbers. Highly recommended when it’s showing in a theatre district near you!
