Kingsley's – Steak and Cigars
April 11th, 2007 at 11:32pm James
It took some careful planning, but for Wednesday night we’d managed to organise a reunion with some of my old work and uni buddies at one of my favourite dining establishments – Kingsley’s Steakhouse and Cigar Lounge. There is surely no finer way to catch up with old friends than over massive steaks, cold beer, fine wine and fat cigars!
The last time we’d seen these guys was at the wedding so there was much catching up to be done. We made the trek back down to Sydney on the train and picked up Sarah’s sister Sonje en-route to the restaurant. We got there a little late, (sorry guys!) but soon the drinks were flowing and we got down to the serious business of catching up.
Andrew was a bit delayed as he’d gone to the other Kingsley’s but fortunately it’s only a short walk away. We soon sorted out the dilemma and he arrived not long after us.
Viv and Jessica had been along to our last Kingsley’s outing and so it was great that they could make it along again this time to keep the tradition alive.
Since we last saw each other, Lucas had met his new girl Esther and Alec had hooked up with Christine, so it was great to meet them both too.
After perfect steaks and sumptuous deserts, it was down to the cigar lounge for a glass or three of port, accompanied by some of Cuban’s finest…
Being a school night pretty much everyone except for us had to work so after a fantastic night we finally said farewell for another year. All that is except for Kyle, who joined us in a nearby pub for a couple of late-night ales.
Another great night back home in Oz!

That cigar lounge really is as cool as it looks.
PS: the bottle you see was the bottle of port we went through whilst down there

That last image is very sinister.
Did you decide on the cigar cutter on the thumbs or the cement boots?
